TxDot to host elderly & disabled transportation program

Paris – A workshop regarding TxDOT's Elderly & Disabled Transportation Program is scheduled for later this month in Paris.

The purpose of the workshop is to evaluate the current year's activities, review plans and goals for the next two years, and to select projects for FY 2011.

Regional residents who are interested in elderly and disabled transportation are invited to attend. Counties to be impacted include Delta, Fannin, Franklin, Grayson, Hopkins, Hunt, Lamar, Rains and Red River counties.

The meeting will take place 10 a.m. on June 23 at TxDOT's Paris District Training Room, 1365 N. Main Street.

Any agency that will be requesting FY11 5310 funds must complete an FY 2011 Application for funding.

The application must be completed and accompanied by documentation supporting the request for funding and a detailed description of the proposed project. All applications and attached supporting documentation must be received on or before 5pm Friday June 11, 2010. The application may be obtained by written request.

The presentation will be conducted in English, and will include handouts which will be projected onto a screen.

Persons with language interpreters or other special communication needs, or disabilities who have special accommodation needs and who plan to attend this meeting should contact David Merritt, at (903) 737-9372, on or before Friday June 11, 2010. TxDOT will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs.
