Hopkins County – A local agency which oversees shortline rail operations will receive its own website pending an agreement with Texas A&M University-Commerce.
The board of the Northeast Texas Rural Rail Transportation District (NETEX) is scheduled to discuss and possibly take action on the expenditures for the project during a meeting Wednesday in Hopkins County.
Also on the agenda, the board intends to consider its option to renew and/or extend the contract with Blackland Railroad, the agency's shortline operator, and board chairman Paul Lovier will present a report on NETEX hosting the Dec. 15 meeting and luncheon of the Texas High Speed Rail and Transportation Corporation at the university.
