Unknown driver kills Quinlan teen

Local law enforcement are searching for a vehicle which struck and killed a teenager walking along State Highway 276 Monday night, before leaving the scene, according to a Greenville Herald-Banner report.

Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Kyle Bradford said Matthew Jay West, 15, of Quinlan, died as the result of the crash.

West was walking east along the highway, just west of West Tawakoni, at approximately 9:58 p.m. on July 6 when he was struck from behind by an eastbound vehicle, Bradford told the Herald-Banner. No description of the vehicle is currently available, he said.
