Update: Funeral services planned for graduate killed in accident

Britney Morgan Stevens, 22, a recent graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce, died in an auto accident on Jan. 5, according to a report from WJTV in Jackson, Miss.

Officials said that the collision happened around 3 p.m. on U.S. Highway 49 near Interstate 20 in Rankin County, Miss. The coroner reports that Stevens died upon impact. Officials have yet to determine whether rainfall at the time of the accident played a factor in the crash.

After transferring to A&M-Commerce from Paris Junior College, Stevens joined the Gamma Upsilon chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority and was in the Honors Program. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in December and was employed as a financial analyst with Raytheon in Greenville.

Funeral Services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Bright-Holland Funeral Home in Paris.
