UPDATE: More counties added to Winter Weather Advisory

UPDATE: 9:08 p.m. Saturday -

The National Weather Service has extended the Winter Weather Advisory to include Hunt, Delta and Lamar counties in our region until 9 pm Sunday night.

Original Story follows:

Another cold snap is on the way to North Texas, and this time it could bring some wintry weather with it.

A Winter Weather Advisory has already been issued for Collin, Rockwall, and Fannin counties from 6 am to 9 pm Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, light ice accumulation will be possible through the day Sunday as rain freezes mainly on elevated roads and bridges. Some sleet or snow may briefly mix in by Sunday afternoon with little to no accumulation expected. Elevated and exposed metal surfaces and vegetation may acquire a thin coating of ice through Sunday.

Some areas outside of the advisory may see some wintry mix as well during the late afternoon hours.
