U.S. Marine Band at A&M-Commerce Saturday

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce – "The President's Own" United States Marine Band will be performing on the A&M-Commerce campus tomorrow night. The performance is part of 43 concerts in 49 days for America's oldest professional music organization. The U.S. Marine Band is performing the concerts throughout the south with music including folksongs and revival tunes from the 1800's, music modeled after the Memphis Jug Band, bluegrass banjo pickin', and marches by the legendary John Philip Sousa. Gunnery Sergeant Chris Clark, a Commerce native, will also be joining the band for tomorrow's performance.

The concert is set for 8pm Saturday in the Ferguson Auditorium on the A&M-Commerce campus. Best of all, the concert is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and begins at 7:15.
