U.S. Population Hits 325M; Texas Contributes Much

Sunday marked a new milestone in U.S. population. The US Census Bureau’s U.S. and World Population Clock rolled over to 325 million in the United States on the morning of May 7.

One year earlier, the United States posted a population of 322 million, 776 thousand, 678. According to the Census Bureau, the United States adds one new person every 14 seconds.

Texas is the second-most populous state as of 2016, with just under 28 million people. Dallas County and city ranked ninth on their respective lists.
