U.S. Rep. Ratcliffe to visit Greenville, Paris

U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe will visit the KETR listening area on Fri., Feb. 20.

A Republican from Heath, Ratcliffe defeated longtime congressman Ralph Hall in the 2014 Republican primary and easily won the general election. Hall, a Republican who left the Democratic Party in 2004, had represented the 4th Congressional District in Washington, D.C.,  since 1981. The 4th Congressional District includes all of Northeast Texas and parts of the Texoma sub-region.

Ratcliffe will meet voters in Greenville 10-11:30 a.m. at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center, 5501 U.S. Hwy. 69 (Business). Later on Friday, he will meet locals in Paris from 4-6 p.m. at Crawford’s Hole in the Wall, 202 3rd N.W. St. 

Ratcliffe serves as the chairman of the Congressional Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection and Security Technologies. Ratcliffe has experience with prosecuting cyber-crime. A former federal attorney in the Bush administration, Ratcliffe was a member of the Attorney General’s Advisory Subcommittee on Terrorism and National Security, chief of anti-terrorism and national security for the Eastern District of Texas. 

Since taking office, Ratcliffe has cosponsored H.R. 596, a measure that would repeal The Affordable Care Act.
