Vandygriff to become precinct three Commissioner

The Delta County Precinct 3 County Commissioner position is about to be filled after a short vacancy.

On Monday, July 1 Loyd Vandygriff of Ben Franklin will be sworn in as Delta County Precinct 3 Commissioner. Vandygriff, a lifetime resident of Delta County, will be replacing Wayne Poole who resigned his office last Wednesday, June 12.

Vandygriff will fill the position until the next general election upon re-election the candidate will serve out the remaining 3.5 years of Poole's term.

A Cooper ISD graduate, Vandygriff retired from Campbell Soup Company in 2006 and has spent time farming. He is familiar with public service as he is involved with the Community Crime Watch and the water board for Ben Franklin.

Commissioners Court will be held on Monday, June 24 at 9 a.m.
