Northeast Texans who love visiting Austin but feel less fondly about I-35 will have another travel option as early as April.
Virgin America, an airline that began serving Dallas Love Field on Oct. 13, will begin offering flights to Austin on Apr. 28, according to a Dallas Morning News report. Virgin America has begun selling one-way tickets for $39 in a sale that ends Thursday at 11:59 p.m. The airline said it will offer five flights to Austin daily.
Southwest Airlines continues to offer its service to Austin. Love Field’s three busiest routes are Dallas-Houston, Dallas-San Antonio and Dallas-Austin, the Dallas Morning News reported. Southwest began flying to Austin in 1977 and currently offers 10 flights to Austin daily, while American Airlines provides 14 daily flights from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
