Volunteers sought for annual Lion Movers program

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – It's a busy time for college students gearing up for the fall semester, and the hot weather is sure to make the already-tough job of moving into dormitories even more taxing. Over the next several weeks, millions of students across the nation will make the move.

Beginning Wednesday, August 25, Texas A&M University-Commerce will welcome a possible record number of incoming freshmen.

Volunteers are sought for the University's annual Lion Movers program. Besides helping residents and their families carry their belongings, they need greeters and building captains.

Faculty, staff, athletic teams and student organizations are encouraged to contact Liz Powell for more information at 903-886-5798.

There will be a Lion Movers volunteer meeting that everyone will need to come to on Tuesday, August 24. The meetings will only last 20 minutes and you can select from one of two times; 4 p.m. or 6 p.m. in room 107 of Halladay Student Services.
