Voters to decide on Special Utility District

By Brad Kellar

– A Commerce-area water supply chain is seeking to become the newest special utility district.

On May 8, voters will decide whether the North Hunt Water Supply Corporation be allowed to convert to the North Hunt Special Utility District.

A temporary board of directors for the SUD was appointed during a special meeting last Thursday.

If approved by voters, the SUD would cover the same area as the North Hunt Water Supply Corporation, including the areas outside of Commerce, Wolfe City and Ladonia.
