Voting jurisdictions make decisions on May elections
By Scott Harvey
GREENVILLE - Each Hunt County entity had been asked to decide how they would comply with the changes resulting from the passage of a new state law.
The changes alter the dates of next year’s political party primary runoffs, which in turn effects next May’s municipal elections.
Most cities in Hunt County will be conducting their elections as previously scheduled. The majority of the county school districts will also be paying a little more to have their elections take place on the same day.
But the cities of Campbell and West Tawakoni will have their current terms extended as their elections have been delayed. Lone Oak and Lone Oak ISD had not yet announced their plans by Thursday.
