Wanted: Sheriff's office seeks suspect

Cooper Review

The Delta County Sheriff’s office is seeking any information leading to the whereabouts of Nerva Marie Wilkins, who is wanted for two counts of felony delivery of a controlled substance.

The DCSO along with Hopkins County Special Crimes Unit has spent over 60 days in an undercover drug sting. While Wilkins is still at large, the DCSO arrested Tommy Wayne Walker Jr. for the same yet unrelated counts. Each case involves the sale of methamphetamine.

The office reports the arrests of over 35 drug dealers over the past year and nine months.

“Although we continue to have a problem with drugs in Delta County, we believe our past efforts have dramatically reduced this problem. During our earlier undercover investigations we made several arrests as compared to the two during this investigation. We, however, still rank illegal drugs as our number one crime and drugs, in many cases, lead to the commission of other crimes,” said Delta County Sheriff Ricky Smith.

Anyone with information regarding Wilkins is urged to contact the Delta County Sheriff’s office at 903-395-2146.

Sheriff Smith also stated, “I want to make it very clear to those involved in drugs in our county, if you mess with drugs in Delta County we will arrest you and seek significant penalties through our judicial system.”
