With Weatherford Expansion Ongoing, Officials eye Second Groundbreaking

GREENVILLE - Tuesday’s approval by the Greenville City Council to abandon an easement along U.S. Highway 380 could allow for another expansion at Weatherford Artificial Lift Systems.

The move comes just two months after crews there broke ground on a $26 million expansion that will pave the way for 100 new jobs upon completion later this year.

Greg Sims is the executive director of the Greenville Board of Development. He told the council Tuesday that all the details of the project are close to being worked out.

City Planner Lance Estep said the company recently contacted the city about a second expansion at the site.
