Wills Point – A Wills Point man is behind bars after police say he has sexually assaulted three of the seven children living with him. 35 year old James Vincent Cotter was arrested after his step-daughter complained of sexual assault to officials at the Wills Point ISD. Cotter is also wanted in Ellis County for aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Seven children, 12 years of age and under, were living with Cotter and were taken into custody by Child Protective Services. After being interviewed at the Children's Advocacy Center in Canton, authorities say three of the seven children had been sexually assaulted by Cotter.
Cotter is in Ellis County Jail awaiting transport back to Van Zandt County.
