Windy conditions persist throughout the region

As of this report, wind speeds measured at Majors Field in Greenville are 16 mph, gusting to 29 mph.

A discussion from the National Weather Service indicated that a powerful upper level trough had been moving toward the southern plains.

Further to the west, cities such as Wichita Falls had reported gusts as high as 59 mph.

This activity had prompted a Red Flag Warning, which has been allowed to expire for north Texas.

A cold front has been on the way behind these winds and was expected to move west to east across the metroplex between 8pm and 9pm Sunday.
