Winter Storm Watch in effect

By Kevin Jefferies

Northeast Texas – The watch was issued over the weekend by the National Weather Service in Fort Worth. An upper level system will move across tonight and tomorrow with widespread rain expected. Then, an arctic cold front is expected to arrive late tonight and early Tuesday morning. Temperatures are expected to drop into the 20s behind the cold front with rain changing to sleet and freezing rain. Accumulation of up to three quarters of an inch is possible. As temperatures continue to fall, the sleet and freezing rain is expected to change to snow of up to an inch.

KETR will keep you up-to-date on the latest severe weather information including area closings if they are issued.
