Wolfe City bans all outdoor watering

By Kevin Jefferies

Wolfe City – Wolfe City has banned all outdoor watering and plans to begin issuing citations for any violations. The drought in Texas has hit Wolfe City especially hard and a special council meeting was called last week to discuss how the city will handle the ongoing dry conditions. The city has already turned on an old well that was not being used, but still cannot keep up with demand.

Measures such as digging a new well or tapping into the North Hunt water supply were discussed. Either option takes time, however, and Wolfe City officials are looking to conserve water as soon as possible.

The council decided to stop issuing warnings for outdoor water uses and begin issuing citations up to $2,000 per day for any violations.
