By Kevin Jefferies

Wolfe City – A Wolfe City business pioneer has died at the age of 77. Allen Douglas Thomason was co-owner of Hellington Industries. For more than three generations the printing, bookbinding, professional photofinishing and photographic business has served Wolfe City and surrounding areas. Thomason ran Hellington from its Main Street location along with his wife. They also amassed over 150 books on the history of counties across the United States.

Thomason was in the Army Air Corps in World Ward II, was one of the founders of Webb Hill Country Club, a charter member of Wolfe City Kiwanas, and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Visitation is today from 6pm to 8pm at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City, with burial scheduled for tomorrow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
