Women go 1-1 in Las vegas

By Kevin Jefferies

Las Vegas – The A&M-Commerce women's basketball team went 1-1 on the road in Vegas, downing one nationally ranked team. The Lions defeated 18th ranked Central Missouri 66-59 in the Southwest Regional Challenge Tuesday, led by Piggy Mosley and Kanani Marshal who put up 15 points each.

Last night, the women's team dropped their second game of the challenge hosted on the campus of UNLV in Las Vegas. Kanani Marshall was one rebound shy of a triple-double, as the junior transfer put up 21 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds for the Lions. That wasn't enough, however, as Southwest Baptist mounted a second-half comeback after being down by eight at halftime. The Bearcats put up 18 points off of Lion turnovers to help take the win 79-71 over A&M-Commerce.

The men and women are back in action in 2006, as they play a double-header January 5th against Tarleton State.
