GREENVILLE - Attorneys for a man convicted in the 2005 killing of his parents near Royse City are pursuing DNA testing in an attempt to clear their client.

Brandon Dale Woodruff is currently serving a life sentence.

His attorneys could learn today if DNA testing can be performed on evidence found at the scene of the crime. If approved, the results could either raise serious doubts about his conviction or serve as additional proof of his guilt.

Woodruff’s parents, Dennis and Norma, were found stabbed and shot to death. A jury found Woodruff guilty of the crimes in 2009.
