Work to begin soon on Hopkins County highway project

Hopkins County – The Texas Department of Transportation has awarded a bid to D.L. Lennon Inc. to begin work on State Highway 154 near FM 1567 in Hopkins County.

The project will reconstruct nearly 2.5 miles of the existing two-lane highway without shoulders to a three-lane highway with shoulders. The bid was awarded at just under $3.2 million and is expected to take seven months to complete.
