Wrongful death suit in Commerce murder case settled

By Brad Kellar

Commerce – A lawsuit against the family of a capital murder defendant has been settled. The family of slain Commerce code enforcement officer Michael Pee Wee Walker has agreed to settle a civil wrongful death lawsuit filed against Adam Ward and his father, Ralph Ward.

Adam Ward was convicted of capital murder in Walkers death last summer, and received the death penalty. The suit alleged both Adam and Ralph Ward were negligent in causing the events which led to Walker's murder. Both sides agreed Monday that neither was liable for Walker's death.
