You must be registered to vote!

The last day to register to vote in the Constitutional Amendment election is Tuesday. Election day is November 8th.

Several school districts in the area have important bond issues on the ballot. That includes Bonham ISD, who is seeking funds toward repairs to Bonham High School and I.W. Evans Intermediate. It’s the third bond issue for the school district in the past three years.

There are also several wet-dry elections.

Statewide, the election puts 10 constitutional amendments on the ballot for voters to consider among other issues. Two of the amendments deal with water, which has become an increasingly significant issue because of the severe drought afflicting the state.

If you need to register, forms are available at county voter registrar offices, post offices, libraries and other government offices, or they can be downloaded at www.votetexas.org. Voter registration requires a driver's license, a state government-issued identification number or the last four digits of your social security number.

Early voting begins October 24 and concludes November 4.
