UPDATE, 8:40 a.m.- The two young women killed in the accident have been identified as Aubree Butts and Devin Oliver. The two young women who survived the wreck are La'Tisha Hearne and Zenobia Winbush. A candelight vigil will be held on the campus of Texas A&M University-Commerce at Rachel's Garden starting at 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night. University flags are flying at half staff Wednesday as well in honor of the women.
One person has been arrested in connection with a two-vehicle crash that injured three people last week.
According to a press release, Commerce Police Department responded to a call around 2 p.m. on May 7 of a two-vehicle crash in the area of Highway 24 and Highway 50. According to investigators, a vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 50 was struck from behind by another vehicle traveling at a high speed in the same direction. Alcohol is expected to have played a part in the crash.
