And Jim Conrad, the archivist emeritus of Texas A&M University-Commerce, tells us about an open house at the Commerce Public Library from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, in conjunction with the local parade.
Delta County Chamber of Commerce will be awarding $600 for the various categories in this year’s Annual Lighted Christmas Parade, which will be held this Saturday, Dec. 6. This year’s theme is “An Old School Christmas.”

The parade is being moved from the traditional Thursday night, and will feature a Christmas festival in downtown Commerce starting at 2 p.m.
Commerce Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Doug Rohrabaugh says entries for the annual Christmas parade will start lining up at 6 p.m. Thursday evening in the Farmers Market on Bonham Alley, with parade beginning at 7, going from Bonham to Bois D'Arc to Live Oak to Washington. One of the attractions will be pep rally for the A&M-Commerce football team, which plays Harding University in the Live United Texarkana Bowl at 12 noon Saturday.
