Last night in Paris, the city council voted not to send results of an investigation of the local Economic Development Corporation to the state Attorney General’s office and the state Comptroller’s office. The motion was introduced by former mayor and current councilmember Dr. A.J. Hashmi. KETR’s Mark Haslett spoke with Hashmi about last night’s vote.
Filing begins this week for two seats on the Greenville City Council, which will be decided during this year’s municipal election.
Council places 3 and 4 will be on the ballot for the May 10 election. Filing for the election begins Wednesday and continues through February 25 at the City of Greenville Municipal Building, 2821 Washington Street.
Jeff Dailey currently serves in Place 3, and Mayor Pro-Tem Velma Del Bosque-Hobdy serves in Place 4. Both are eligible to seek re-election to the council.
The Greenville City Council is set Tuesday to once again at least discuss the status of the city’s lease with L-3 concerning property the defense contractor operates on at Majors Field Municipal Airport.
