Appeal scheduled in cocaine possession case

A Bowie County man is appealing the conviction and lengthy prison sentence he received earlier this year, for transporting a kilo of cocaine through Hunt County during the summer of 2009.

Brandon Ray Antwine of Texarkana was indicted in January 2010 on one count of possession of a controlled substance, namely cocaine, of more than 400 grams with intent to deliver. He had pleaded not guilty.

A Greenville man arrested at a Commerce High School basketball game on a local warrant faces additional charges.

A "large amount of crack cocaine" was recovered from the parking lot at the Commerce Inn early Tuesday morning.
