On Thursday morning, the University Interscholastic League announced new district competition for every high school athletic team in the state of Texas, a rite of passage that takes place every two years. For the Commerce Tigers, their slate of district competition includes some familiar faces, including reigniting a rivalry with Bonham's Purple Warriors.

The Commerce Tigers got their first playoff victory in over 10 years in 2012. Head coach Scott Wells recognizes the expectations that come with success and is cautiously optimistic about this season.
