Commerce Independent School District will soon be making their campuses more secure using technology.

Throughout the coming weeks, workers will begin installation of a buzzer system at the front entrances of each campus. These systems will be equipped with two-way video/audio connection to the front office, allowing campus staff to see and speak with the person at the door, while still being at the safety of his/her desk.

Commerce ISD superintendent Blake Cooper says, starting in the fall of 2014, incoming high school students will choose one of several "endorsements," which are similar to college majors.  The endorsements will give more flexibility to students in the courses they take.
