COMMERCE - With over 400 points tallied, Commerce High School competed well against other district competitors at the UIL academic competition held April 5 at the school.

COMMERCE - Commerce Independent School District is seeking nominations to its Hall of Honor.  Established in 2010, the Hall of Honor recognizes former CHS or Norris School students who have had a distinguished career and staff members who have made a significant impact on the students of CISD or Norris School.

CANTON - The Commerce Middle School Honor Band performed at the University Interscholastic League competition in Canton on March 22 and brought home a rating of excellent on stage and superior in sight reading.

COMMERCE - Commerce ISD Board of Trustees Monday took time to recognize the Lady Tiger basketball team, who finished Bi-district Champions in 3A. The Tigers defeated Gainseville 57-46 on February 13 to claim the honor.

Trustees to hear report on Community Plaza

COMMERCE - The Commerce ISD Board Monday night will receive an update on the Community Plaza, which enters its second week of operation. 

COMMERCE - Reclassification to 2A does not affect academic offerings or funding for Commerce ISD, according to CISD Superintendent Blake Cooper.

Commerce ISD was reclassified as a 2A school Thursday morning by the UIL in Texas.

CISD students applaud during 2010 Winter Arts Festival

COMMERCE - Commerce ISD will showcase students in a celebration of the visual and performing arts December 8 at Commerce High School.

Superintendent Blake Cooper said the Winter Arts Festival has become an annual holiday tradition where the choirs, bands, theatre students and artists present their best works to parents and the community.

“Last year’s Festival was well received by the community and we hope it only grows through the years,” he said.
