Cooper High School students will see a new face in the hallways beginning in the fall as Keith Cook will be taking the helm as the new principal for the first time. 

Cooper Independent School District Superintendent Denicia Hohenberger said this area of leadership is of the utmost importance and they have worked to find the very best fit for their campus.

After finishing 13-1 and Regional Champions in this year’s football season, the Cooper Bulldogs laid claim to many accolades in the All-District selections for District 8-2A, Division II.

Darmarcus Robison, a senior at Cooper ISD, was unanimously selected as District 8-2A, Division II’s Most Valuable Player for this year’s gridiron season. Robinson finished his senior season with 2,211 rushing yards (averaging 13.3 yards per carry), 31 (29 rushing) touchdowns and five two-point conversions.

Bulldogs to face Henrietta in area round

The Cooper Bulldogs have their sights set on the Area Championship Title. Their challenger is the 7-4 Henrietta Bearcats. The black and gold team is located near Wichita Falls and has been coached by Byron West for the past eight years. The Bearcats are led by their 6' 2", 165 lbs senior quarterback Conner Fletcher.

It's only August, but in Cooper, the local buzz about the Bulldogs is building.

A series of events are planned Friday at local entities and schools to honor the men and women of the United States military for Veterans Day.

At 9 a.m. Friday at the Cooper High School gymnasium, the school will be hosting “Students Honoring Our Veterans.” The event will be followed by the American Legion Red Henderson Post 483 Memorial Service, honoring America’s fallen soldiers, at 11 a.m. on the south lawn of the Delta County Courthouse.
