The local food bank that serves Commerce needs more room. Commerce Food Pantry Inc. board president Dennis White told the city council at a Jan. 21 meeting that the agency has outgrown its current space, according to a report in The Commerce Journal.

White told the council that Commerce Food Pantry serves 45-50 families weekly, or about 200 people monthly. The food bank is open Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church on Monroe Street.
