Greenville High School


Brad Kellar, Herald-Banner reporter and KETR news contributor, describes new facilities at Greenville High School and Travis Elementary School that are opening with the beginning of the new school year today.  Brad says the new Bowie Elementary School will probably open by the end of the fall semester or start of the spring semester.  And Brad says the Hunt County Commissioners Court will consider calling a bond election for November 8 that would help pay for new highway construction in southern Hunt County.

Housewarmers of Greenville

Pud Kearns of Housewarmers of Greenville is also the driving force behind "Shattered Dreams," a super-realistic program at Greenville High School February 18-20 that will make the risk of driving while intoxicated apparent to GHS students.  The event includes a simulated crash at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 18; a memorial service for "victims" at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 19; and a trial of the driver accused of drunken driving at 7 p.m.

City of Greenville

Local residents could receive a call next month, asking them if they are in favor of the Greenville Independent School District issuing bonds next spring to pay for a career and technology center.

After consecutive 0-10 seasons, Greenville High School brought back local legend Marvin Sedberry to guide the football program back to winning ways. Last season was another winless one, but this could be the year that the Lions break their consecutive loss streak.
