Kevin Banks, general manager of the Greenville Municipal Auditorium, says the "Downtown Stroll" this Saturday evening will be an opportunity for area people to see the progress that's been made recently in downtown Greenville.  About 150 businesses will participate with special offers.  The GMA will host a "sing-a-long" to the movie "Grease" starting at 3:30 p.m. and the Stroll will begin at 5.

Pud Kearns with Housewarmers of Greenville says a kickoff event to replace the 75-year-old seats in the Greenville Municipal Auditorium begins at 5:30 Thursday evening in the GMA.  She says the campaign is hoping to raise nearly $500,000 for the project.

Hunt County Historical Commission chairman Carol Taylor says the Greenville Municipal Building, and the Municipal Auditorium inside, will be 75 years old this Friday, October 24.  The city of Greenville is planning a major observance of the event next week.

Greenville Convention and Visitors Bureau director Milton Babb says the weekend of January 30-February 1 is a busy one for the Greenville Municipal Auditorium, with three concerts in three nights, including the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Friday night January 31.  And the legendary Loretta Lynn will perform at GMA on Friday night, February 28.  Also, Milton says the new Splash Kingdom water park is expected to attract around 80,000 visitors to Greenville this summer.
