GRAYSON COUNTY - Zebra mussels were first found in the United States in the mid 1980s. It was only three years ago that scientists discovered the invasive species had spread to Lake Texoma, which sits on the Red River between Oklahoma and Texas.
TAWAKONI - Area lakes were among the beneficiaries of this week’s rains, with Lake Tawakoni now less than a half a foot below its fill stage. In December the lake was down more than six feet.
GREENVILLE - The Greenville City Council approved an ordinance Tuesday to sell raw water to the Sunrise Municipal Utility District which will go toward filling a new lake.
