Victoria, Texas native Mason Lively is making a big splash on his maiden voyage. His debut record has the Americana/alt-country singer flanked by big names like Lloyd Maines and Cody Braun, and a perfect mixture of country and rock sounds.
Crossroads Music Company attendees got a double take this weekend as Grammy award winners Terri Hendrix along with longtime music collaborator legendary steel guitar player and music producer Lloyd Maines gave not only a toe-tapping performance at Saturday night’s concert but offered ticket holders a special unplugged singers/songwriters workshop on the art of crafting a song on Sunday afternoon at Sulphur Springs City Hall Chamber Listening Room.
Known for her Grammy award winning co-write on The Dixie Chicks song "Little Jack Slade," Terri Hendrix has released 14 albums in 20 years - but the fiercely independent, multi-instrumentalist was not content to stop there. She has written a book AND created a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing music and art where it's needed most.
Terri Hendrix phoned in to Notably Texan Wednesday from her home in San Marcos to talk to Matt Meinke about music, house concerts, her Own Your Own Universe endeavor, dogs, gardening, and Lloyd Maines.
