Cooper Review

With early voting wrapped up for the 2017 City Election, of the 1,205 registered voters inside the City of Cooper limits only 108 had cast their early votes at the Cooper ISD administration building. In comparison there were 200 total votes in the last City election.

Election Day is this Saturday, May 6 at City Hall, located at 91 North Side Square in Cooper from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.Vying for the position of Mayor of Cooper will be Joseph Flanery, Amanda L’Esperance, Carl Reel, Darren Braddy and Galen Kimbrell (as listed on the ballot).

City Election Candidate Forum will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Delta County Civic Center gym.

The Delta County Republican Club is inviting candidates to participate in a Candidates’ Forum with respect to the upcoming City of Cooper Elections.  The public is also invited to the forum that will be held at Delta County Civic Center on March 9, 2017, and will begin promptly at 7 p.m.
    According to the Club the purpose of this forum is to give all candidates for Mayor and/or City Council an opportunity to speak to citizens and share their views on topics of interest and issues affecting the community. There are five candidates in the mayoral race and four (two incumbents) in the city council race to be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017.
