School security has been a hot topic for many years and, unfortunately, isn't going to stop being one for many years. It's important that schools do all that they can to keep their students safe, so what are districts doing?
This week, we talk with Bonham ISD and Sulphur Springs ISD to see what they are doing to strengthen their school security on The Morning Bell.
Commerce ISD superintendent Blake Cooper says the school district will soon install security buzzers in all of its schools, so that office personnel will have to "buzz in" visitors before they may enter the school.
Commerce Independent School District will soon be making their campuses more secure using technology.
Throughout the coming weeks, workers will begin installation of a buzzer system at the front entrances of each campus. These systems will be equipped with two-way video/audio connection to the front office, allowing campus staff to see and speak with the person at the door, while still being at the safety of his/her desk.
