Lions win big at Kingsville

A&M-Commerce roared out to a commanding 41-7 lead early in the second half behind big plays on all facets of the game, notching its first Lone Star Conference victory of the season with a 41-28 win at rival A&M-Kingsville. The Lions retain the Chennault Cup with their second-straight victory over the Javelinas, notching their first road victory in the state of Texas since 2006.

Dr. Eric Gruver, director of the "War & Memory" project at Texas A&M University-Commerce, says many Northeast Texas veterans of World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Cold War have shared the memory of their experience for the oral-history endeavor.

Hunt County Extension Agent Mary Sue Cole says the state legislature has changed the "cottage-food" law pertaining to food prepared in the home for sale on the market.  The new law reduces restrictions in some ways, creating opportunities for entrepreneurs, but also potentially creating some risk for consumers, Cole tells KETR's "Blacklands Cafe."

The 23rd-ranked Midwestern State Mustangs escaped with a 30-24 win over Texas A&M University-Commerce at Memorial Stadium on Sept. 28.

That’s right, escaped. An A&M-Commerce onside kick attempt in the waning minutes tumbled into the hands of a Midwestern defender, ensuring victory for the visitors. Only then was the outcome decided. Considering how the Lions had played in the fourth quarter, it’s a safe bet the Mustangs were more than a little relieved.
