Not many details were available; however, Hopkins County law enforcement reported a single vehicle rollover accident occurred Tuesday afternoon killing the vehicle’s sole occupant.

The accident which happened near Mahoney Road intersection on State Highway 19 just outside of Sulphur Springs took the life of sixteen-year-old Cooper High School student Brayden Withrow. Withrow had just acquired his driver’s license at the beginning of July, and details of the cause of the accident had not yet been released.

Bowie Elementary School crossing guard Jewell Sandlin died on April 11 as a result of being struck by a vehicle driven by Hunt County District Attorney Noble Walker in an accident that happened near the school on March 29.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has stated its intent to investigate a March 29 incident in Greenville that resulted in the death of a Bowie Elementary School crossing guard.

Delta County deputies were just some of the law enforcement called on for the high speed chase last Friday.

A high speed vehicle chase which started in Paris went through Delta County last Friday before the suspect was apprehended just inside the Hunt County line.

A head-on collision, occurring on State Highway 78 between Bailey and Bonham, took the life of 69-year old Rae “Jill” Wheeler Turrentine, formerly of Cooper, and serious injuries to 69-year old George Carruth of Bailey.
