Princeton teen facing trial for deadly crash

Joshua Bartlett is facing trial for a automobile crash Nov. 10 that killed two people and injured five others, according to a report by KXII-TV.

A grand jury indicted Bartlett Feb. 25 for manslaughter and aggravated assault, the report said.

Bartlett was driving a small red hatchback with six passengers when it crashed in a single-car accident, the police report said. Only one person in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt, it said.

Bartlett was speeding at the time of the crash, police said.

The trials for three people indicted in connection with an investigation of the local Child Protective Services (CPS) office are currently scheduled to be conducted in May and June.

Trial dates had been set for March 10 for Laura Ard, Natalie Ausbie Reynolds and Rebekah Thonginh Ross.

All three were indicted by the Hunt County grand jury in September.

Commerce Police Department

A Commerce woman was sentenced to prison Tuesday, after earlier pleading guilty to a charge of manslaughter in connection with the November 2012 stabbing death of a Greenville man.

Myeisha Simone Garcia was sentenced to 10 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division, following the sentencing hearing in the 354th District Court, according to Hunt County District Attorney Noble D. Walker Jr.
