'Godspell,' July 8-13 at A&M-Commerce

Carol Burnett's 'Hollywood Arms' opens Tuesday at A&M-C

A play written by Carol Burnett and her late daughter Carrie Hamilton, "Hollywood Arms," opens in the University Playhouse at Texas A&M University-Commerce at 8 p.m. Tuesday, and continues with 8 p.m. performances through Saturday night and a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday.  Director Jim Anderson is the guest on "Blacklands Cafe."

'Kiss Me Kate' opens tonight at A&M-C University Playhouse

The Cole Porter musical "Kiss Me Kate," a production of the Theatre program and the Department of Music at Texas A&M University-Commerce, opens tonight at 8 p.m. in the University Playhouse.  Performances will be at 8 p.m. each night through Saturday, with a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday.  Theatre faculty member Joe Reynolds is the director and guests on the Blacklands Cafe.

Freshman Callie McGovern and graduate student Jacob Layton rehearse A Midsummer Night's Dream during the Summer 2013 season. This fall's local Shakespearian offering present's the bard's works in a very different way.

The director of "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged and Revised," Samantha Grace, visits the Blacklands Cafe.  The comedy will be staged October 8-13 in the Performing Arts Center at Texas A&M University-Commerce (seating is limited).
