Delta County along with Cooper ISD showed their appreciation to Veterans last Wednesday, Nov. 11. The morning began with a special program put on annually by the Cooper High School National Honor Society. The Hopkins County Military Coalition performed the prelude and posting of the Colors.

Veterans will be honored at Wednesday's program both at Cooper High School and also at the Delta County Courthouse.

The Annual Veterans Day Programs are planned for this Wednesday, Nov. 11 starting at 9 a.m. at the Cooper High School gym. The school pays tribute to all the Veterans by honoring them for their service to Our Country. The program will include speaker American Legion Red Henderson Post 483 Commander Gary Thompson.

The 23rd annual Veterans Vigil was held Nov. 12-13 at Texas A&M University-Commerce. The Vigil began with a reception on Nov. 12 at 9:30 a.m. in the Rayburn Student Center pre-function area followed by the opening ceremony in the conference rooms, after which a processional took place to light the vigil flame that burned continuously until it was extinguished at the closing ceremony on Nov. 13.

Veterans Day is a time of observance to honor the brave soldiers who fought in past wars. Hunt County's Annual Observance of Veterans Day will be held this year in downtown Greenville to honor the soldiers.

The Annual Hunt County Observance of Veteran's Day is scheduled for today.

Veterans day events are scheduled this week in Greenville. The American Red Cross has scheduled a parade to start at 10 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Bois d’ Arc and Lee St. in downtown Greenville.
