Hunt County Agrilife Extension Agent Sarah Latham says creative arts exhibits are due to be submitted for the Hunt County Fair this Wednesday (April 12) from 3-7 p.m. in the Creative Arts Building of the Fairgrounds.  The Fair takes place from April 20-April 29 on FM 1570 in Greenville.   Sarah says the Fair is in need of volunteers, including judges.

Texas A&M Agrilife Extension

Hunt County Agrilife Extension Agent Sarah Latham says the annual "Walk Across Texas" event sponsored by Agrilife starts Monday, March 6.  Teams of eight will together attempt to walk a combined 800 miles, the distance across Texas.  Agrilife will register their progress online, so teams can compete against one another.  Sarah will also start a new series of "Tech Talks" at 2 p.m.

Hunt County United Way executive director Frances Dalbey says the UW will be organizing "Walk Across Texas" teams at the Reecy Davis Center, 4320 Lee St. in Greenville, from 6 to 8 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Fridays start February 13.  The idea of "Walk Across Texas" is that teams combine walk the distance across Texas, 800 miles.  Also, Frances says the United Way will lead an effort Saturday, March 4 to renovate the youth baseball and softball fields in Wolfe City.

Hunt County Agrilife Extension Agent Sarah Latham is organizing teams of eight for "Walk Across Texas," in which the walkers will together travel the distance from Orange to El Paso, 834 miles.  The event begins Monday, February 1.  Each walker will need to walk a little less than a mile-and-a-half per day to complete the event.
