Northeast Texas – Hopkins, Rains, and Hunt Counties are the driest counties in Texas. The listing comes after a report from the latest drought indicators. Six of the seven driest counties in the state are in Northeast Texas. Titus, Fannin, Rockwall, and Collin Counties were all among the driest counties in Texas.
Most areas are under outdoor burn bans due to the dry conditions and many areas are under strict watering restrictions, as well.
